ParkVida will have a host of activities on offer for its guests. Whether you are looking for something packed with adrenaline, or simply looking to relax and pass the time of day away doing something different to your everyday norm, there will be something for you:
Downhill Mountain Biking - ParkVida will offer a great deal of downhill mountain biking trails designed so there are not too many riders on each trail. All trails will have features that will challenge every level of rider, providing difficulty and slope ratings of blue, green, black, and double black. All features will have ípassesí so riders have the choice to hit the feature or hit the pass.
Cross-country Mountain Biking - ParkVida will have many cross country biking trails and these will be the way for guests to explore all corners of the property. The idea will be to create a cross country grid with a 3 degree sloped run every 100m of contour, these will be the green runs and will give guests quick access to all areas of the park and then there will be blue and black runs interlinking these trails.
Dirt Bike Jump Park - A professional dirt jumping park will be located near the main entrance for users to wow new guests to the resort. The jump park will be designed by professionals and will allow beginners through to advanced riders to enjoy it. It is envisaged that dirt jumping competitions will be held here each year and will also allow for professionals to train here all year round.
Bike Skills Centre & Boot Camp - There will be weekly workshops to assist bikers in upgrading their skills. The operation will organize boot camps for people who are new to mountain biking, involving intensive riding skills exercises and drills. Skills camps, hosted by endorsed pros, offered and designed to improve expert riders skills will be sure to please that up and coming rider in the family. In addition to riding techniques, the course will also discuss pre-ride maintenance, the indispensable trailside repair toolkit, trail safety and courtesy.
Hiking - ParkVida has numerous trails for the guests to enjoy on their own (or guided). Exploring the plantation on foot is a great way to experience the scenery in its fullest and hikes will be available along the ridge line, and weave up and down the entire valley to the river/lake at the bottom.
Zip Trek - There will be a number of different zip trekking opportunities within the site. Zip Trekking combines an element of adventure with learning the flora and fauna of the natural surroundings. A route through the lush rainforest valley will combine 6 zip lines, whilst a route along the rivers edge will provide a higher level of adrenaline with dramatic drops and long lines. A final zip line will offer the most exhilarating experience of all, as it will allow users to travel from the top of the hill right the way down to the bottom is one adrenaline packed ride.
Rope Course/Airpark - The rope course/airpark, located in and amongst the dense rainforest will consist of a giant obstacle course up in the trees using ladders, walkways, bridges and tunnels made of wood, rope and super-strong wire. Guests will get kitted up with harnesses, pulleys and karabiners, and after a safety briefing, they will be let loose into the forest canopy, free to swing through the trees and have some fun. Instructors will always be on hand, regularly patrolling the forests.
Steel Bobsleigh - A state-of-the-art steel track that starts at the top of the chairlift and weaves its way down a narrow course that concludes at the base of the lift. Experience what it's like to slide down a track like a luge, skeleton or bobsled athlete!
Mule Riding - Surprisingly, this is one of the most enjoyable ways of experiencing the countryside in the Dominican Republic. ParkVida will own their own mules and guests can enjoy short or long mule rides throughout the property. One of the most stable and sturdy animals, the mules will happily carry guests through the entire levels of the property. It will also be possible for guests to do a 5 day mule/camping excursion to Pico Duarte (the highest mountain in the Dominican Republic) on mule back.
Lasersport Clay Pigeon Shooting - Lasersport Clay Pigeon Shooting is a sport that can be enjoyed by everyone. Players use a modified shotgun to fire an infrared beam at clays launched from a conventional clay launcher whenever a trigger is pulled, the lasersport control module generates the shotgun 'bang' and when a player hits the target it reproduces the sound of a breaking clay.
Obstacle Course / Jungle Training - The purpose built obstacle course incorporates physical, mental and fun challenges in a 1,400m course. The unique figure of eight design will feature 45 obstacles that test strength, balance, agility, stamina and mental problem solving skills. The course will be ideal for team building, confidence building, fitness, and creating a wonderful sense of personal satisfaction.
Riverteering - Climb, scramble, abseil, slide and jump along the river bankís riverteering course. With a full set of safety gear and a guide to show you the way, this is a fantastic way to explore the beautiful river and its steep bank, regardless of the weather conditions.
Team Building Exercises - A series of team building exercises will be developed especially for the site and its natural surroundings, with a view to test the ability of groups to work together in solving problems, building objects and structures, and in competing against other teams.
Kayaking and Rafting - Half day rafting will be conducted off the resort, but will be organised for the ParkVida guests. For those able to kayak, similar trips will be organised.
Hydro Speeding - Hydro speeding is all about descending white water rapids on a body float. Guests will have a wetsuit and a specialised designed floating toboggan - rather like a body board. The sport is often described as surfing or tobogganing down the rapids.
Coffee Production - Learn about the intricate process of coffee growing, from planting the tree to picking, drying, roasting and packaging. ParkVida will offer guests an opportunity to participate in the process and at the end of the day, take a bag of coffee home with them.
Culinary Classes - The culinary classes at ParkVida will introduce guests, both novice and experienced cooks, to the art of Dominican cuisine. Designed by the resort's culinary team, the programme offers guests a hands-on learning experience in a traditional setting.
Microbrewery - ParkVida will have its own microbrewery within the resort, where local beers are produced. Guests will have an opportunity to learn about the process and taste the beer first hand.
Botanical Tours - Botanical tours of the nearby National Park will be conducted by local guides who have spent their entire lives there, bringing a wealth of experience and stories, which in itself will add a unique flavour to the experience.
Spanish Lesson - Weekly Spanish lessons will be held for the guests of ParkVida, so they can learn the basics and interact more with the local population and test their new found skills on the staff.
Mountain Bike Training - A program will be developed for mountain bike training for local schools to encourage the young generation of Dominicans into the sport. A weekly or monthly program with an aim to try and breed world class professional riders who can compete on a world stage will be incorporated.
English Lessons - English lessons will be held on a weekly basis, to improve the communication skills of local population (young and old).
Local School - In the future, ParkVida will have a school on site for the staff's own children so they can be educated from a young age.
